The folk‘n’roll band Susie & the Spuds was formed in the south of Norway in 2012.
The Spuds are well known for their energetic live performances, their combination of a wide range of instruments and musical genres, and also for their ability to spread joy and good vibes from the stage.
After playing numerous of concerts in south of Norway, and gaining a reputation for being a «must see» on stage, the band finally found their way to a studio in May 2014. In two weeks they recorded their debut album «Shindig» at ABC Studios in Etne (Norway).
Several songs found their way to Norwegian radio channels and the album received excellent reviews in the media. The Norwegian newspaper Fædrelandsvennen appointed Susie & the Spuds as «one to watch» after the album was released. Susie & the Spuds have continued to tour extensively throughout Norway after the release of their debut album. They have also played several concerts abroad.
In the spring of 2017 the Spuds have again been working in studio are will be releasing their new album «Sing Me Home» in late summer of 2017. Their single “I Love My Baby” from the upcoming album will be released on April 28th 2017.
On their new album the band continue to explore and adapt different musical genres, from rock and pop – to funk and punk. «Sing Me Home» is about travelling. It’s about being on the road, about searching. It’s about longing and about holding on the notion that one can also find. It’s about never letting go and about life as a treasure map written in a puddle.
Susie & the Spuds’ music are best described as a mix of Americana, old time and rock ‘n roll. Influences range from artists like The Avett Brothers and Old Crow Medicine Show, to Tom Waits and Alabama Shakes.
